Keep Your Head Up

Keep your head up. Keep your heart strong.

This song is in my head a lot. It's engrained on my brain on long runs. I actually say these words over and over. I highly suggest you download it. It's that good. CTB sent me some song suggestions and this is my favorite. And Ben Howard (maybe you haven't heard) is amazing. I love his music. It's not "Oh my god I am so pumped up I am going to win the marathon" music. It's more like "Yes, you can do this. You absolutely can do this. Keep your head up. Keep your heart strong." I just love it. And I love photo apps.

So as many of you know... I have some amazing friends who thought of throwing me a surprise fundraiser. Honestly. When they finally had to come out and tell me for a variety of reasons...
I cried.
That's what I do. It is what it is. And I am so super thankful and humbled and appreciative. Throwing a party is no easy task. A lot goes into it and that is all they wanted to do from the beginning. A supportraiser really and I am so excited that it is all coming together and I just love them for even thinking of it. Well, I love them for so many other reasons but this put me over the edge.
Over the edge with love.
I love you guys. You know who you are. You know my heart is full. We are going to have a blast. So come one, come all. Come celebrate that one month (OH MY GOSH) 1 MONTH from the date, I will be running Boston Marathon.
THE. BOSTON. MARATHON
Message me for details. It's going to be the best!

So basically this was this mornings message.
And as all my little ones told me, "All you need is love means if you love someone you treat them like you want to be treated and they treat you that way too." And that is that. Out of the mouths of 7 year olds.

PS: I know today is not January 6th.
But all you need IS love any day so why not.

A few other amazing things on tap...

I am walking normally again. Thank you Stu's 30 K. I cross trained it up yesterday to get back on track and ran this morning a nice slow recovery (try not to fall off the treadmill) sort of run with my girl LG.

My bestie CEG went to a Boston Strong Event in NYC and brought me back this amazing book signed by the authors. It too, made me cry. I have such awesome people in my life.

Christi is the co-host of Life Is Great New England and a radio supastah on Sunday nights on WBZ and I was lucky enough to call in a few Sunday's ago and talk to the authors about what it was like to be at the finish line of the Boston Marathon in 2013. While I have not read the book yet I will certainly do so after I run. I have heard that the stories of love, hope, strength and inspiration ring through in it's entirety. So thank you Casey Sherman & Dave Wedge.

Thank you CEG. Love you so much!
I am #LowellStrong because of all of you.

Some daily reminders that THIS is happening...

Emails are flowing!
Singlets are here!

And this. This might be my favorite advice today.

Being a person is hard ~ Nicole Bedard
Life is hard.
We are all running the same race.
Some just have more miles to get in.

Thank you so much for your love and support and positivity.
I could NOT
N O T
do this without you!
Hope to see you on 3/20/15
Yikes!!
Love,
me

And if you are up for even MORE reading and "Road to Boston" following... I got an interview with THE Girl Who RAN EVERYWHERE.
