One Week. 7 Days. 168 Hours. 10,080 Minutes. 604,800 seconds.
We're learning time this week in 2nd grade. How appropriate.
So who's coming out!
So this is really it. I love you all. It's been real...
Juuuuuuust kidding. It's going to be GREAT!
I am super excited. It's a mix of emotions.
Kind of like Pre Marathon Syndrome. You heard it here first.
Tapering makes one second guess every decision they make which is really fun. Is it enough? Is it too much? Is it? Or isn't it?
To be honest, I can't really believe it's a week away. That went way too fast. We just had so many days, just a few days ago and now they are almost gone! I've never wanted the week before school vacation to crawwwwwwwl until today. But ask me in 5 minutes and I'll be like GET me to HOPKINTON right now! Bring it!
That's the fun thing about Pre Marathon Syndrome. You're up, you're down, you're laughing, you're crying.
Hmmmm...
As I type this I'm listening to PUBLIC ENEMY and the ANNIE SOUNDTRACK.
It's fine.
It's Saul Good.
Speaking of...
Guess who wore it first. Well, technically he wore it 2nd but I have no photographic evidence of the girl who wore it first. But she is just as awesome. My Hodge Podge. She put it on when I handed it to her on Friday morning. But my shirt went into Beantown for the Celtics game yesterday! I love it! This is awesome!
I love my friends. They are the best. They have been with me on this long a$$ road and it's coming to an end. They are thankful for that, I am certain. Even though they wouldn't tell me that.
In fact... this is how this conversation went down.
CTB: U will be repped in the town of beans.
(translation, I am wearing this to Boston for the Celtics Game)
Me: Wahhhhhh why are you so awesome? I love this!
(no translation needed)
CTB: Because I need to do laundry.
(amazing comeback)
So, there you have it. My people keep me in check.
And this is the back. It's the best. Designed by my cousin Tim, who is incredible but also incredibly humble. Love him!! And they've almost all been delivered. A few more to drop off this weekend. So take lots of pics in em and send em my way!
And speaking of awesome people...
These 2 rocks were in my mailbox this week and last week and I was trying to figure out who left them and then it hit me. Not the rock, but the idea that it was my beautiful friend Q. Thank you Q! She gets it. All of it. #ivorysoap
My people are awesome and so very supportive. I can't wait to give them a huge sweaty hug on Monday at various times throughout the day. I am so lucky to be on this journey and to have all these awesome people. Everyone. Has. Been. So. Amazing. And I thank you... with my whole heart.
Last (no, really the last I swear) long run was on Saturday. It was weird. Okay, maybe surreal. That's a better word. Weird doesn't do it justice. It was so odd not to see the roads we've run all winter long covered in snow. The sun was shining. It was windy as hell but it was a beautiful day. A beautiful, surreal day. Because I will be on that road in a week FOR REAL.
So while I ran with some team members for a few of the miles off and on I mostly really alone and I was able to take it all in. It was a beautiful day (just about 64) and not having 700 layers on was pretty awesome. Colin came to help team DFMC at Sandy's water stop and he had a blast! He made a poster to support the Boston Strong theme and just loved being out there. Easy access to unlimited jelly beans, gummy bears, cookies and gatorade probably made his experience that much more amazing.
Thanks Col!
And for the record, they are both amazing. El's just an amazing late sleeper as well. And while he jumped out of bed, she had a good couple of hours to go before starting her day.
I'm more like El. I don't jump out of bed but my alarm is rude.
And it works.
Not quite sure that I was 100% charged though.
But it was a good last run before the big day and I took in the sights. Snapped a few pics and was happy to be in shorts. Finally.
I'm comin for ya Boston...
Good GOD this seemed so far away. As I ran by, I contemplated whether or not I would rather swim it.
I wouldn't. But I thought about it.
You think crazy thoughts when you're running.
CRAZY.
So 7 more days. 168 Hours. 10,080 Minutes & 604,800 seconds from this moment. So I guess that's it! I'll see you at the finish.
I love this saying... I love Kathrine Switzer
So who's coming out!
I can't wait to see you.
Hear you.
Hug you.
It's going to be the best day ever!
