Start each day with a grateful heart.
Being grateful is something that I was brought up on. Being thankful for your family and your friends. Appreciating the moments and knowing how fleeting they really are. Taking care of your own but giving back being just as important. That is how I'm raising my own. We give what we can, we do for others, we love, we support, we help, we stay kind, we fight for what we believe in.
Fighting for the beautiful kids at St. Jude through
SLS Fitness For A Cure
Everyone has something that they are fighting for. Something that means so much to them that they want to make it all better. They want to fight as hard as they can for it. That's what cancer has done to our family. Cancer has made me want to run to the ends of the earth for a cure, nevermind 26.2 miles. And in fighting this fight, I have met so many people on the same road. So many beautiful, amazing, incredible people who have fought, have survived, and who have lost. And to me this is beyond unfair. I hate cancer. I hate the pain it creates. But I love that we are all fighting for a cure. In so many ways. Dana Farber. St. Jude. Cancer is cancer. And it needs to be stopped.
I love that you all stand behind me in this fight.
I keep shaking my head thinking, wow. I have a hard time putting it all into words.
Seeing so many people come out on a pretty tough 1st day of spring with that weather, was just awesome. The words of support and inspiration and stories you shared with me will carry me through the toughest miles. You thanked me for running. You thanked me for wearing your loved ones on my shirt. You thanked me for fundraising. But I am the one who should be thanking you.
I am honored to even be on this journey. I am lucky to get have this once in a lifetime (yes, just once) opportunity. I am blessed to have such amazing people on this road with me standing beside me every step of the way, telling me I CAN do this. I can ONLY do this because of all of you. And that's the truth.

I know I thanked you Friday night but to be honest I was so nervous. I talk to 7 year olds all day. This was a bit different talking to an amazing crowd of supporters.
To my beautiful friends who put this all together through hours of planning, phone calls, texts, raffle items, donations, emails, letters, picking up everything that goes into a fundraiser, get togethers, set up and break down. I LOVE you with all of my heart. I am so lucky to be so loved and thought of and I just can't wait for a lifetime of memories to be made with all of you awesome people.

To my amazing parents who have raised me to fight for what I believe in and for what isn't right. They have stood behind me in every decision and supported my every move. Thank your for making it in from Ireland and being there even though you were on in totally different time zone, you wouldn't have missed it for the world. And for that I am so blessed. Your strength carries me every day and I know that someday far off I will be channeling your strength to get through tough times and I'll know that I can because of you.
Bri... you are the best. Thank you for being on this journey with me and for covering for me for many hours. For understanding that this is so important and how much it means to me. For listening to countless stories and facts that you may never have even wanted to know but you listened. Thank your for believing in me, making me laugh (at myself) every day. Being our personal chef (we would starve) And for being who you are. Always. Thank you.
To my entire family who came in from near and far, I thank you. I am so lucky to have such an amazing family. I love how close we are and I love that you have stood behind me on this from the day I got accepted to run for Dana Farber.

To EVERY single friend and family member and complete stranger who has supported me on this journey through donations, coming out on Friday or just sharing words of inspiration, THANK YOU. I thank you so much. I am surrounded by so many people who give to so many amazing causes and I am someone who totally understands that we give what we can. We do for who we can, when we can and it all works out. And I am just so appreciative of the blessings that are in my life. Those blessings aren't things. They are people. They are moments. They are memories. That is what fills my heart. Things don't fill your heart. Things don't fit in your heart. But all the rest, it does.
Thank you for more moments, more memories and the most support a girl running 26.2 miles to find a cure for cancer could ask for.
I have 28 days left on this journey.
My final long run will be 3/28 (22 miles) and then I start to taper for 4.20.15.
I cannot wait to see your faces in the crowd.
Can. Not. Wait.
I love you guys.
You'll be super excited to know that since day one of fundraising I am now just under 10,000 dollars towards a cure!!
We raised $4,220 on Friday!
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart!
