My tea's gone cold I'm wonderin why...

My tea really has gone cold, but it's fine. It's sleepytime tea so I might not even notice. I'm balancing it on the couch while I type and ice my heel. It's all good. I just love that song. Because I love Eminem and because I love Dido. And because I'm thankful. I swear I have the best people in my life. I'll tell you why in a sec.

We have had a little mini vacation around these parts. 30 something inches of snow over 3 days. I lost track. We did have a pool going, but I lost track when I wasn't winning. I do that. I hope I don't lose track when I am not winning the marathon. That would be awful. Imagine if I lost track and could only find a bar?
Kidding. That's not even funny.

So we've had 3 days off from school. That's a lot of days off from school. That's a lot of hours of free time. That's a lot of unscheduled, non routine, free for all, fun. I need to get back to work immediately. I mean did get lots done around here and had so much fun with my 2 favorite little people but I also baked (and ate) about 3 dozen cookies. I ran and ARC trained though so it all balances itself out...

WHAT is better than this I ask you?
Nothing. There is nothing better.

But it was a really good 3 days of (sort of) resting. I did edit a ton of photos but besides that I don't count finding a match for 100 socks actual work. It was a mini break for my brain. I did a lot of mindless wandering around here cleaning closets & the playroom and filling bags of trash and then being told the trash is never ever ever going to be picked up because of the snow. So there's that.

Oh and I absolutely LOVE the guy who shoveled the Boston Marathon Finish Line. LOVE HIM. So many people sent me that link and I just kept thinking WHAT A DOLL!

Thanks Phil, nice shot.

But guess what? Along with all the donations and extremely generous contributions to my run for Dana Farber since I have been on this journey... I also have people in my life who send me presents for no reason. Well the only reason I can think of is that they are just awesome and thoughtful and amazing.

HOW SWEET WAS THIS to come home to today...

This was from my friend Michelle. My beautiful swimmer friend from college sent me (well us, b/c she sent one for SIL too) but she sent us these awesome Raw Threads Boston shirts. They are the softest shirts I have ever felt (they feel like silk) and they are so special. And the card? Forget it. I cried. Michelle just ran the Disney Marathon and did amazing. I stalked her facebook page the entire day because it kept telling me how she was doing. She is an inspiration to me every day and just this super sweet thoughtful person. This made my day. I am still smiling. SIL is too. Too kind Michelle! Too kind!

And this guy...
This guy donated his blood for me today. Well, not FOR me but for me. CTB is one of my best friends in the whole wide world. I mean I named my kid after him. Colin is also CTB. Kidding!! That is not true. I didn't even know CB was CTB until after my own CTB was born. So that's just made up. But it sounds so best friendish.
But here's the quick backstory...
Every year I do my very best to donate to my BEAUTIFUL friend Sandy's blood drive for her incredible son Matty who she lost to cancer. Every year, sometimes twice a year. But since I have been training, I really need my blood. I just need to keep it because I need all the help I can get and I couldn't exactly donate my blood and then go run a million miles. Yes, a million. I'm up to a million now. So I had to do something. I had to recruit someone to replace my blood donation and CTB stepped up. First timer. All went smooth. I bought him a Gatorade and the best, biggest cheeseburger you could possibly imagine and I'm doing wellness check in texts and he's good! I bet he might even become a regular. It's for the kids! He got a sweet tee shirt too and my kids got to give their Sandy hugs and it was a really good day, doing really good things.

Colin could belong to Sandy. Blonde haired, blue eyed, that smile!

My beautiful friend who does SO MUCH for SO MANY. Who gives me advice and answers my 500 questions and picks me up for team runs and tells me I can do it. I can do it. I can do it for her I can do it for Matty and I can do it for so many others who have lost their battle.

So here's to a good few days off, filled with some really good stuff. Back to reality tomorrow. Back to a long team run on Saturday (I hope!) and back to the countdown. #80days. I can't believe it.

PS
My heel is on the mend. I love my chiropractor. I will quite possibly go there forever because it's magic.

I spend a lot of time on this chiro chair...

And I wouldn't even be in these amazing brand new kicks without my beautiful friend of a lifetime Elizabeth. New Balance Fresh Foam #980's are like pillows for your feet. Your basically walking around in pillows. Which is amazing. Much like my beautiful friend and her mad skills for knowing what running on clouds must feel like. Love ya girl.

I kind of love you all.
